  • We don’t take bookings at the taproom of any size I’m afraid, Its jut a rock up and grab a table kind of place.
  • We don’t have parking here. The closest pay and display car park is Haven Road car park, only a two minute walk from us.
  • We are a cashless taproom for the safety of our staff.
  • The taproom is open to the public 7 days a week, so for that reason we don’t hire out the brewery or beer garden to anyone. However, we do have a private venue hire space available upstairs.
  • The disabled entrance to our taproom is through the brewery. Just ask a member of our staff when you arrive and we will be happy to help. There may be a rare occasion where this route is not accessible due to activity in the brewery, but this is very unusual.
  • Well behaved dogs are welcome. We ask that you keep them quiet, on the lead and at your table. Naughty dogs may be asked to leave, because they are harshing our buzz.
  • Well-behaved children are allowed in the taproom and beer garden before 8pm, but of course, must be accompanied by an adult.
  • We sell merch from the bar at our taproom, but don’t currently have an online shop for this.
  • We don’t can or bottle anything here at the brewery. But we do sell Growlers of our own beer to fill up and take away.
  • A growler is a 2 litre (approximately 3.5 pint) vessel that we will fill up for the price of 2.5pints of our beer.
  • We recommend that these are consumed as quickly as possible to enjoy our beer at the freshest. But can be stored in the fridge for up to 10 days unopened and then enjoyed later on.
  • We almost always have a guest alcohol-free beer on tap. Also we have a section for gluten-free and alcohol free cans in out fridges. Almost all of Topsham Brewery brewed beer is vegan, apart from our ‘Mud Monster’ Milkshake Stout that contains lactose.

Brewery

  • We are a small micro-brewery that prides itself on the variety that we can brew on our kit. So most of the beers that we brew are seasonal and one-offs. There are however a few beers that often get re-brewed such as our Session IPA ‘Goat Walk, our Small Beer ‘Shiny’, and our Milkshake Stout ‘Mud Monster’. But most are new recipes, to keep it fresh.
  • We don’t offer official brewery tours here, but if you catch the brewer on a good day and he isn’t super busy then he may well be happy to show you around.
  • The vast majority of our beers are sold at the Taproom, but we do also regularly supply Portal Pizza Magdalen with our beer. And occasionally to one or two select local bars.
  • We don’t sell kegs or casks to anybody privately. Only to other pubs/bars/taprooms.
  • Topsham Brewery is a 2 vessel 12hl (7.5bbl) mash/lauter system complete with 4 x 12hl unitanks and 8 x 1000l serving tanks. It Produces approximately 850hl of beer per year.

Venue

  • The pricing structure for the venue upstairs works on the size of a group and duration of event. Because of the varied nature of bookings here this may be somewhat bespoke, so fill out our ‘Private Hire’ request form for more information.
  •
  • Yes it does, we work with Apple Blossom Deli for our catering here. But may be open to other options as well. We are still working towards a more comprehensive approved catering list.
  • We have a speaker system and a PA, so both background music or a DJ is an option.
  • Yes you are welcome to load up a prepaid bar tab behind the bar for your guests to enjoy.
  • For a non-profit yes, otherwise no.
  • I’m afraid not, the hire is exclusive to the upstairs rooms.
  • There is no disabled access to the venue space upstairs. Sorry for the inconvenience.
TopBrewRunClub
  • The run is always 5km give or take a few hundred metres. It is an inclusive run club so if you run fast you will run further as we try to loop back.

  • There are a few loops we alternate between always starting and finishing at Topsham brewery for a discounted beer at the end.

  • We have an area in the brewery reserved for us and it is fine to leave coats/ bags there.

  • This is an inclusive run club, the aim is to chat, make friends and have a beer at the end. No one gets left behind so as long as you can manage 5km you can run at any pace.

  • Unfortunately as much as we love four legged friends we would prefer if they stayed home, just to minimize risk to those running and others on the shared path.
