What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work at all. Others are optional, and we only use those if you tell us we can.

Your choice

The first time you visit, a banner asks what you are happy for us to use. Nothing optional runs until you answer, and choosing “Essential only” is as easy as accepting. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page.

Essential

Always on. These keep the site working and cannot be switched off.

• WooCommerce sets cookies that remember what is in your basket and keep you signed in safely through checkout. Without them you could not buy a ticket.
• WordPress sets a cookie if you log in to manage the site, and a short-lived one to check your browser accepts cookies at all.
• Gravity Forms may store a little information while you fill in the private hire or careers form, so you do not lose your answers.
• Your cookie choice itself is stored in your browser, so we do not ask again on every page.

Analytics

Off until you accept. If enabled, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and events people look at, so we know what is worth putting on again. It is set to record no advertising or personalisation data unless you separately allow that below, and it tells us nothing that identifies you by name.

Maps, video and marketing

Off until you accept. Some things on the site are served by other companies, and those companies set their own cookies when they load:

• Google Maps on our location pages. Until you allow it, you will see a placeholder with a button to load the map.
• YouTube on some event pages, loaded through youtube-nocookie.com. Until you allow it, you will see a placeholder with a button to play the video.
• Any advertising measurement we use for our events, so we can tell which adverts brought people to a night.

The background video on our homepage is served by Vimeo with Do Not Track switched on, so it sets no tracking cookies and plays for everyone.

Turning cookies off in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Your browser’s help pages explain how. Be aware that blocking essential cookies will stop the basket and checkout working.
