We are delighted to be bringing Silent Book Club to Exeter, with an official branch run by Exeter City of Literature. Join them twice a month at Topsham Brewery from 6pm to 8pm. It is free to attend and there is no booking required.
At Silent Book Club there is no assigned reading. All readers are welcome: ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books. It is BYOBook. Friends and strangers gather at a set time and place, order food or drinks, share what they are reading, and settle in for an hour of silent, sustained reading. At the end of the hour you can socialise, or not.
Attendees arrive and settle in from 6pm. Reading begins between 6.15pm and 6.30pm and runs for an hour in communal silence. After that we stick around for food, chat and a drink until 8pm, though there is no pressure to hang about.
If you would like to attend and would benefit from a book token to buy a new book to read, please fill out this form and we would be happy to help: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScvxtC6HiKkp531VnMAlduk7MEDEkJD5dpnMNyVAc13GTSb2A/viewform. Please note we only have a limited number of book tokens available.
Exeter City of Literature exists to celebrate and support literary heritage and activity, locally and globally. See everything they get up to as one of only 63 Cities of Literature in the world: https://www.exetercityofliterature.com/
